The Burriana Beach

The Playa de Burriana is the largest of Nerja's beaches. A kilometre long, the beach is a mixture of shingle and sand, offering safe paddling, swimming and snorkeling, with a variety of sea life to be seen around the rocks at either end of the beach. There are a number of recreations available on the beach, including pedaloes, water-skiing, parapenting and windsurfing.

Surrounded by cliffs where the Sierra de Almijara drops down to the sea, the Burriana Beach is overlooked by a Parador, one of the chain of hotels located at places of scenic beauty.

At the rear of the beach are numerous beach bars and restaurants, that allow you to dine or drink throughout the day without having to change from your swimwear, while children can continue to play in the sand. There are free showers, toilets and changing facilities, as well as shelters and beach beds for hire.

The El Litoral development is a small community of 15 villas set into the cliffs just 200 metres from the Burriana Beach. The town centre is only 15 minutes' walk from the villa through the traditional town streets (or 20-30 minutes via the picturesque beach path) and there is a large supermarket even nearer.
